Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

Plain English

We collect the minimum needed to run your free visibility check and deliver a paid package if you buy one. There are no accounts, no mailing lists, and no cookies — we don't run analytics or advertising trackers of any kind. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see your card details. We never sell your data. The detail is below for anyone who wants it.

1. Who we are

AI My Trade is operated by Chris Liddiard, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR, the data controller is Chris Liddiard, contactable at privacy@aimytrade.co.uk.

"AI My Trade", "we", "us" and "our" all refer to the same thing in this policy: the service that runs at aimytrade.co.uk.

2. What data we collect

There are no accounts, no profiles and no mailing lists. The data we handle falls into four categories:

  • Business details you give us. When you run the free visibility check, we collect the business name, trade and area you enter so we can search for your listing the way a customer would.
  • IP address. We briefly use your IP address server-side to enforce a fair-use limit (3 checks per visitor per day) and to detect abuse. It is not written to a cookie and is not used to build a profile of you.
  • Contact details. If you request an honest assessment or start a paid package, we collect your name, phone number and email address so we can get in touch and deliver the service.
  • Payment data. If you buy a package, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe passes us a transaction reference so we can match a successful payment to an order.

We do not collect passwords, marketing opt-ins, precise location data, biometric data, or any special category data under UK GDPR Article 9.

3. How we use it

We use the data we collect to:

  • Run the automated checks against Google Business Profile and Foursquare.
  • Enforce the free check's fair-use limit and prevent abuse.
  • Contact you about your assessment or deliver the package you've bought.
  • Process your one-time payment, or your monthly monitoring payment if you add it.
  • Comply with our legal and tax record-keeping obligations.

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making with legal effect, and we do not run analytics or advertising cookies of any kind.

5. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run AI My Trade. Each processes your data only for the specific purpose below.

  • Google (Places API) — receives the business name and area you enter, as a search query, to check your Google Business Profile listing. Google privacy policy.
  • Foursquare — receives the same business name and area as a search query, to check your Foursquare listing. Foursquare privacy policy.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe receives your card details directly; we do not see or store them. Stripe privacy policy.
  • Supabase — database hosting. Free-check results and, separately, paid-client records are stored in two separate Supabase projects, each access-restricted. Supabase privacy policy.
  • Resend — sends transactional confirmation emails after a purchase. No marketing emails are sent through this service. Resend privacy policy.
  • Netlify — website hosting. Netlify necessarily processes basic request data (IP address, browser) to serve pages. Netlify privacy policy.

If you buy a package, your contact and order details are also recorded in our internal client-delivery system, which we operate ourselves to track the work you've paid for — it is not shared with any outside party.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

6. International data transfers

Some of the third-party services above (Google, Stripe, Resend and others) are based in the United States or have global infrastructure. This means your data may be transferred outside the United Kingdom.

Where this happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards — typically the UK International Data Transfer Addendum attached to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an equivalent mechanism recognised under UK GDPR.

7. How long we keep it

  • Free check results (business name, trade, area, IP address, results): kept for as long as reasonably needed to run and improve the tool, typically no longer than 12 months, then deleted.
  • Contact and order details: kept for the duration of our working relationship with you, and for 6 years afterwards to comply with HMRC record-keeping requirements.
  • Payment records: retained by us and by Stripe for 6 years, as required by UK tax law.

8. Cookies

We do not use cookies. AI My Trade does not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any other tracking technology. The only technical signal we process is your IP address, used momentarily server-side to rate-limit the free check tool — it is never written to a cookie and never used to build a profile of you.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask what data we hold about you (right of access);
  • ask us to correct inaccurate data (right to rectification);
  • ask us to delete data we hold about you (right to erasure);
  • ask us to limit what we do with your data (right to restrict processing);
  • receive your data in a machine-readable format (right to data portability);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (right to object).

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@aimytrade.co.uk. We respond within one calendar month, in line with UK GDPR.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

10. Children

AI My Trade is aimed at business owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit, secure payment processing through Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant), and access-restricted database credentials that can only insert and read the specific records this site needs — never full database access.

No method of transmission or storage on the internet is 100% secure, but we use industry-standard practices and review our security posture as the service grows.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example if we add new tools or change how the service works. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.

13. Contact
